Who we are and how it all started

We love surfing & have been doing so since 1989. We started out as a surfboard shaping / repair business based in my home town, and then in Galway. 

Having spent most of our lives surfing cold water, we've worn our fair share of wetsuits & know what brands keep us warm and last well. After battling to find these quality wetsuits where we were based, we decided to start stocking them for family & friends but our customer base grew and ... Black Sheep Surf Co. was born! 

We're now based on the Wild Atlantic Way, in Kilcolgan, close to Galway City. We operate in converted shipping containers and our surf shop specialises in surfboards, fins, wetsuits & accessories needed for enjoying the cold water.  

What we care about

At Black Sheep Surf Co, we strive to bring the best quality and best priced surf products. Customer service (read: a good chat) is very important to us and we aim to match customers with the gear that most suits their needs. We believe by buying the right quality & spec items, items last longer so reducing waste. We also try to provide more sustainable products and services, and we're always searching for wetsuits, surfboards & fins constructed with more environmental consciousness in mind.

Brands we stock

We stock a wide variety of wetsuit brands including C-Skins, Xcel, Billabong, Typhoon and Roxy. We also carry a huge stock of surfboard fins to suit all imaginable set ups, from brands including FCS, Scarfini and Future fins. As well as high end surfboards, including Sharpeye, Lost and Channel Islands we also specialise in soft top surfboards and all the accessories to go with surfboards including leashes, deck grips, surfboard bags, wax and repair kits.
